Terms of service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using RewardSensei ("the Service"), including the website, mobile app, and browser extension, you agree to be bound by these terms of service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

RewardSensei is a credit card benefits and rewards optimization tool operated by an independent developer. The Service helps you track card benefits, sync offers from issuer websites via a browser extension, monitor reward point balances, and receive information that helps you compare card value and decide what to review next.

3. Not financial advice

RewardSensei is an informational tool only. The recommendations, suggestions, card comparisons, and analyses provided by the Service do not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You should consult with qualified professionals before making financial decisions. We are not responsible for any financial decisions you make based on information from the Service.

4. Issuer affiliation disclaimer

RewardSensei is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any bank, credit card issuer, or financial institution, including but not limited to American Express, Chase, Citi, Bank of America, and Capital One. All bank names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

5. User accounts

  • You may use the browser extension without creating an account (local-only mode).
  • If you create an account, you must provide accurate information and maintain the security of your credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

6. Browser extension

By using the RewardSensei browser extension, you acknowledge that:

  • The extension accesses supported issuer websites using your active browser sessions. RewardSensei does not ask for or store your bank username, password, or MFA code.
  • The extension reads offer, benefit, and transaction data from bank websites on your behalf.
  • Raw transaction descriptions stay in extension storage. If you use account sync, derived monthly category totals, counts, month, and relevant last four digits may sync to your RewardSensei account.
  • Syncing does not activate offers. Pro users may request activation for a supported individual offer or eligible offers in bulk while the issuer session is active. Each activation is user initiated and remains subject to issuer eligibility and terms.
  • Bank websites may change their structure or APIs at any time, which could temporarily affect extension functionality.
  • You are responsible for complying with your bank's terms of service.

7. Mobile application

By using the RewardSensei mobile app, you acknowledge that:

  • Native app availability depends on the applicable store or testing distribution and is not guaranteed for every device or region.
  • The app may request location permission for nearby card suggestions and airport guidance. Airport matching occurs on the device. For nearby-place lookup, the app sends coarsened coordinates to the OpenStreetMap Overpass service. RewardSensei does not store precise coordinates in its account database.
  • Push notifications may be sent for preferences and automations you enable. You can change system permission and available notification preferences in the app's settings.
  • When native purchases are available, the relevant platform store processes payment and RevenueCat manages entitlement status. Store purchases are also subject to the store's terms.

8. Subscriptions and payments

RewardSensei offers both free and paid tiers:

  • Free: includes unlimited cards, manual benefit usage, supported offer sync and viewing, Which Card, points, lounges, saved trips, limited Card Advisor results, invited-household participation, and account export.
  • Pro: is an individual entitlement. Household membership does not transfer Pro. Current Pro capabilities and prices appear before checkout.
  • Offerings: may include monthly, annual, or lifetime packages when configured. The checkout screen's plan, price, billing period, renewal terms, and processor are authoritative.
  • Web purchases: managed by RevenueCat and may use Stripe for payment processing. RewardSensei does not store your full payment card details.
  • Mobile purchases: processed through the applicable platform store with entitlement status managed by RevenueCat. Billing, refunds, and cancellations are governed by the store's terms and policies.
  • Recurring subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time; your access continues through the end of the current paid period.
  • For web subscriptions, cancel via your account settings. For mobile subscriptions, cancel through your device's subscription management (Settings > Subscriptions on iOS, or Google Play > Subscriptions on Android).
  • When offered, a lifetime package is a one-time purchase that provides Pro access for the life of the Service, subject to these Terms. It is not available unless shown at checkout.
  • Refund eligibility and requests follow the terms of the processor that completed the purchase. Account settings identify the available management path; support can help identify the processor.

9. Affiliate links and referrals

RewardSensei may include affiliate or referral links to credit card application pages. If you apply for a card through these links, we may earn a referral commission from the card issuer. Affiliate availability does not change recommendation order. Which Card ordering uses reward rates and saved point-value assumptions. Its international filter can exclude cards listed with foreign transaction fees, while offers, caps, and ownership may appear as context. Card Advisor may also use supported spending totals and recorded benefit usage. We label a compensated action near the link when applicable.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Share your account credentials with third parties or create multiple accounts.
  • Use the Service to collect data for commercial resale or competitive purposes.
  • Misrepresent your identity or use someone else's bank session.

11. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and content, is owned by RewardSensei and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our written permission. Your data remains yours; we claim no ownership over the data you provide or that the extension collects on your behalf.

12. Service availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. Bank integrations depend on third-party APIs and website structures that may change without notice.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RewardSensei and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • Inaccurate offer, benefit, or reward data displayed by the Service.
  • Unauthorized access to your account.
  • Changes to bank websites or APIs that affect functionality.
  • Any financial decisions made based on information from the Service.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension and deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that harms the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Data deletion follows the process described in our privacy policy.

15. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

16. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through a reasonable method, as required by applicable law. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
